Factual Print Advertisement

In Media Design my professor gave the prompt of redesigning a 'bad' print advertisement. The new advertisement was to communicate a message effectively through proper use of the basic design principles.

I recreated this advertisement and simplified it. I chose brighter colors that coordinated with the logo company logo colors. I wanted to choose brighter colors to symbolize “brighter days coming” once the scientific trial is over. I chose the image to be the outline of a head with the company's logo as the brain. I made the main text of the poster look like it was in a thought bubble of the outline of the head.

I added a clear call to action in the bottom corner for this factual ad. The typeface I chose is more on the bold side, but it is clear to read. The layout's focal point is the company's logo inside the outline of the head. Contrast is used in the colors chosen (ex. Grey vs light blue and yellow), repetition is used in the font of the text, alignment is used in the way the text is lined up with the borders, and proximity is used with the thought bubble in relation to the outline of the head.
